upsidedowncycling workshops for ages
Thanks to our amazing unstoppable volunteers, we've got loads going on for kids again this year... puppet making, treasure hunts, crafts, face painting, croquet, bouncy castle, safari disco, giant bubbles, play area with mud kitchen, sandpit, dens, vintage tractors, giant games, and Sunday breakfast cinema club.…
Alongside these we also have some more "grown-up" activities like upcycling fashion workshops and yoga.
Some of the workshops have limited spaces so it'll be worth coming to the café early to sign up.
Upsidedowncycling workshops
This project has toured Maputo, Mozambique, Singapore and it's next stop is Together!
Fashion and dress making
Open your mind and learn how to create high fashion from your old/pre-loved clothes.
Artists and Designers Moose and Amanda Curtis will help you to look at old clothing from a completely new angle.
Learn how to rethink the design, cut, sew, stencil and leave with something new and unique to wear.
No design, tailoring or printing experience necessary.
Puppets making
Brazilian artist Karol da Silva will lead our puppet making workshop. All ages are welcome to come along to create puppets and mini clothes & dresses from upcycled and rescued material.
Both workshops are suitable for all ages and levels of skill.
Check the schedule in the Awamu cafe/barn for timing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Both upsidedowncyling workshops will end with a parade on Sunday afternoon.
Please be sure to bring unwanted to clothing to turn into new creations.
